Behind the scenes: Designers homework
Turnaround time is 2-3 days on graphic design work and for website design, it depends on the complexity.
After receiving the design brief, first things first! The designer does her research. We don’t mean scientific experiments or analysis. We simply mean gaining a more nuanced understanding, the target audience, the business or industry, etc. The beginning stage of working on a project is the most crucial. This guides the creation of the design.
Let’s say you are designing a website. With research, you find out who will visit the site and what sort of design elements will be appealing to them. Research arms the designer with knowledge and the designer becomes is more confident in designing. The wireframes, sketches, brainstorming, concept development happens during the design research stage. Thereafter, the designer starts creating or developing the artwork.
The sample design/(s) is sent to the client for feedback, after receiving the feedback revisions can be made and the final design is delivered. Design files of our clients are kept for a period of 12 months, should it happen that they lose their designs. Our designer’s homework is to also keep files secured on our digital devices.
